I just wanted to tell everyone we are alive and kicking, albeit with great exhaustion.
Hopefully pics and a long post tomorrow but I cannot send this off without telling everyone our GREAT news!! Jemma got the all clear from the cardiologist today! We knew she had a massive VSD that was repaired in China, but we did not know that she had another sort of minor defect too, but it is that defect that protected her heart from going into heart failure as a baby! Is God good or what? Anyway, that defect was repaired too when they repaired her VSD. Also we were a bit uncertain of the potential of lingering pulmonary hypertension and the Dr said there is no way she has that! Yeah!! We are thrilled! I also just want to add to my Charlotte peeps that if you ever need a pediatric cardiologist, which I hope you don't, but if you do, Presbyterian Cardiology and Dr Green in particular are FANTASTIC!! He is gentle, kind and thorough Doctor. We were blessed to be referred to him.
Okay, that is all for tonight. Time for bed!

I was starting to worry about you guys! Glad to hear all is well and the cardio appt went great! I know you will all have a very merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteGreat news! Can't wait for your next post PLUS pics.!! Give Jemma a big squeeze from me!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you are home and PRAISE GOD for the report from the cardio. doc today!!!!! Praying for your jet lag...try and keep things as low key for your family as possible (I know, hard to do this week for Christmas ;) I have learned the fine art of saying "no" and learning to focus just on Sara Beth, her adjustment to us and ours to her. While she is doing beautifully, I've had some hard times so so keep my sanity and provide the best environment for her to blossom, we've kind of turned inward and focused on ourselves. I felt really guilty about that for a while but it is what's best for her and us. You are going to experience a wide range of emotions and feelings in the next few months. Joy and sadness at the same time, as strange as that may seem. Once the jet lag is done and life gets back into full swing, "normal" life really never returns. There will be a new normal and you'll learn to just roll with it. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you! Blessings to your entire family and Merry Christmas!!!!!
